Narrative
At approximately 0150Z on 27 September 1954, two reliable USAF officers flying a YC-175 at 3,000 feet observed an object initially appearing as a very bright star, then resolving to a cigar-shaped formation of rectangular windowlike lights moving WSW. No running lights, exhaust flame or trail were visible. The total time in sight was about 2 minutes as a star and about 90 seconds as a shape. Another aircraft reported to Lake Charles AFB tower sighting at about the same time.
