Narrative
On 18 September 1954 at 1010Z (early morning), a civilian fishing at a lake near New Baden, Illinois observed a rectangular box-shaped object the size of an automobile with multi-color glow (red, pink, green, blue). The observer was casting for bass and looked up to see the object approaching at 10-degree elevation azimuth SSE, appearing to be approaching a crash flying between trees. Disappearance caused by trees. Sighting lasted 6 seconds. Investigation noted possible cause was reflection from aircraft, though no aircraft were reported in the vicinity.
