S/Sgt James A. Stevens, HQ Sq Sec TTWG Scott AFB (Mail & Records Section), observed object at 01:50Z on 4 January 1956. Object first sighted at 15 degrees elevation, 360 degrees azimuth, climbed gradually at high speed directly overhead. Disappeared overhead as though lighted characteristics were extinguished after three seconds. Wing Intel Officer had no substantial relative info on possible cause.
