Narrative
At 0105Z on 4 September 1956, a 1/Lt observed a bright red oblong object at 12,000 feet drifting north for six minutes before fading from sight. The sighting was visual only, occurring at dusk in the vicinity of 43 deg 14 min N / 83 deg 55 min W (Michigan). East-bound aircraft were in the general area at the time per CAA check. No additional intercept action was taken; the report was forwarded by the 30th Air Division Defense at Selfridge AFB to ADC, ATIC Wright-Patterson, and Director of Intelligence USAF.
