Narrative

On 25 September 1955 at 0357Z, an observer near Pueblo, Colorado reported a single round object the size of a washtub, brightly lit, traveling north in straight and level flight at 90 degrees elevation. Object flew straight away for approximately 30 seconds. No sound was heard, though another aircraft passing overhead may have obscured any sound. The reporting officer commented the sighting was probably caused by a jet aircraft.
