Narrative
GOC Post observers including a Captain instructor and civilians began observation around 30/0722Z August 1956 (24 August local). The object was at approximately 50 degrees elevation, moved from southeast to east, with points of light similar to jet exhaust. It disappeared from view then reappeared in approximately the same location, observed for over two hours. Maxwell AFB lay approximately 6 miles east; numerous aircraft were known to be in the area. Possible weather station ceiling lights suggested as cause.
