Narrative

On 26 February 1955 at 0202Z, an observer in Snowhill, Maryland reported an object with no definite shape, first taken for a star, at altitude estimated between 1,500 and 20,000 ft. The observer briefly went into the house to get a jacket; when he returned, the object had disappeared. Reported via 647th ACWRON Manassas, VA. Flight 3-H identified the object definitely as an aircraft flare.
