Narrative
On 1 March 1956 at 2359Z, an observer scanning the skies for aircraft near Newton, Iowa sighted a round, pea-sized object that was white with color changes. Azimuth and elevation unknown. Object disappeared without fading or going down after 4-5 minutes. Ground-visual with binoculars. Headquarters concluded sighting was possibly astronomical due to age of observer and apparent non-technical background.
