Narrative

On 7 May 1956 at 0410Z over Oklahoma City, the observer went outside to check clouds after a TV weather warning when he spotted a concave soupbowl-shaped object at 45 degrees elevation, 330 degrees from his position at 904 NW 36th St. The object had three amber lights and moved north, then west, then north again in sharp quick turns over 50 minutes. Observation aided with 6-power Bausch-Lomb binoculars. An unconfirmed tornado was reported 25 miles northwest at 0450Z.
