Narrative
On 30 July 1955 at 0600Z near Shelby, Iowa, a group of observers at GOC Kilo Metro 33 Black post (post supervisor Thomas Stoker, William Edwards, Don Kenkel with camera, Ronald Edwards, Marvin Brown) sighted an object with flashing red-white-green lights. Object kept under surveillance until 30/1000Z. Ground-visual only. An Idaho aircraft passed within five miles and pilot reported nothing visible. Additional sighting NE of Shelby with five persons observing. Photographs were taken (to be mailed) and investigation was authorized. Officer noted object resembled an oncoming car one mile away.
