On 9 June 1955 at 2555Z (daytime) near Warner Springs, California, an observer made an accidental sighting of a single round white object at 45 degrees elevation to the southwest. The object had an apparent parachute on its bottom and traveled in a straight line to the southwest for 12 minutes before the observer went indoors to phone in the report. Skies clear, light surface winds northwest. Jets were heard high in the area but not seen.
