Narrative

On 20 November 1953 at 0207C (0307Z), a C-46 aircraft 150 miles SE of New Orleans at 17,500 feet on direct course to Tampa, FL was intercepted by a glowing object, blue and white. The object moved up, down, and around, then stayed in front of the aircraft before moving northeast. Preliminary evaluation by assistant duty officer was probable Naval aircraft from Key West Naval Station. Pilot was later questioned at his home in Miami by Miami AFB operations dispatcher via telephone; pilot stated object he saw was definitely a star.
