Narrative
On 29 July 1955 at 0310Z, two large silver objects (one trailing slightly) were sighted in Washington State near Pleasant View while observing two aircraft in area. Objects were tracked at 5000 ft off ground heading SW and faded out of sight. Senior Director P-68 reported no radar pick-up in object area. Captain Thomas at AC agreed with senior director that the objects were part of 'Moby Dick' (a high-altitude balloon project). However, AISOP analysis noted winds were not in exact support of balloon theory at the reported altitude.
