Narrative
On 2 December 1956 between 2350 to 0000 hours CST (approximately 0550Z), a farmer near Woodstock, Minnesota observed an unidentified object that appeared as a half sphere with flat side on top. Object was fire-red and orange, larger than a baseball at arm's length. Object tipped before moving northwest slowly, observed at 18-20 degrees elevation for approximately 10 minutes. Sky was mostly clear with few clouds. The major suggested it could have been the moon, but farmer stated he could not see the moon. Object was sighted with no optical aids by ground visual.
