FLYOBRPT (655th AC&W Squadron) — 1953-03-11 — Watertown, New York (GOC Post P-9)
Narrative
At approximately 1810 EST on 11 March 1953, twelve observers at the Watertown, NY Ground Observer Corps post sighted an oval-shaped object approximately one mile west of their position. The object glowed star-like in multiple colors (white, orange, blue, green), was reported at jet speed and an altitude of 20,000 to 25,000 feet, and emitted no audible sound. It was observed for approximately two hours and ten minutes. No radar contact was made at the local AC&W site, although the report was deemed authentic given twelve witnesses and the long observation period.
