Narrative
On 17 June 1955 at 0900Z near Pasadena, California, a ground observer scanning the sky from post EJBE 5491 observed a round reddish object at 45 degrees elevation, moving from north to southeast then going straight up before fading. Duration was ten minutes; observer used binoculars. The 4602D AISS concluded the sighting was possibly a balloon, noting the brilliantly lit area could have illuminated the object.
