Narrative

On 9 April 1956 at approximately 0421Z, a civilian garage attendant in Gurnee, Illinois observed a single round orange object the size of a basketball held at arm's length. Sighting lasted six to eight minutes before the object faded. Sky was overcast at 4,700 ft, visibility 10 miles. Reported by the 755th AC&W Squadron at Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Headquarters concluded possibly astronomical.
