Narrative
On 15 August 1956 at 2232Z over Fitchburg, Massachusetts, a 15-year-old female student and three other observers reported a cylindrical staggered formation of eight objects with red and green lights and a buzzing sound. Two of the objects dropped lower than the rest. Object faded out after about 3 minutes. Clear weather, no wind, visibility 15 miles, and an aircraft passed about 10 minutes after disappearance. Senior Director 1/Lt suggested a possible KC-97 dropping flares for B-47 or B-52 refueling.
