On the night of 12 August 1956 (Lowry Flight Service Center reporting at 1221Z), a male civilian aged approximately 53 in Bloom, Kansas, casually observed an object at 15 degrees above horizon at 300 degrees compass azimuth, which traveled straight and level to 200 degrees azimuth then disappeared suddenly. Weather was clear, no moon.
