Narrative

On 8 August 1955 at 0445Z, observers at the 661st ACWRON Selfridge AFB Michigan sighted a rectangular, baseball-sized white object near Saginaw. Object was observed by ground-visual and binoculars between 25,000-30,000 ft, initially stationary then moved slightly north at 0530Z before completely disappearing from eyesight and binoculars over 1 hour 12 minutes. Weather was clear with temperature 70F, heavy dew. Assistant Operations Officer checked the possibility of a weather balloon with negative results. Conclusion was possibly balloon.
