Narrative
On 12 July 1955 at 0309Z, two civilians observed a small round orange-to-red object at Charleston, Maine. At 0320Z (presumably the same object), five military observers from the 765th ACWRON observed the object at low position on the horizon heading northeast, disappearing into clouds. The object appeared as a light with no negative features at high altitude. Headquarters opined the observers possibly saw aircraft in the clouds, where moving clouds would give the plane appearance of great speed.
