Narrative
At 1628Z on 9 April 1955 at dawn, a 45-year-old newspaper man driving across the Oakland Bay Bridge first noticed the object by its glow at 200 ft elevation, 45-degree azimuth. The object descended below the horizon in straight flight east to west, slow speed, visible approximately 3 seconds. An atomic blast had gone off approximately one hour before the sighting at 1334Z. The intelligence office assessed it as possibly meteorite or phenomenon from the atomic blast.
