On 24 December 1955 at 0814 PST, a civilian assembly worker in Riverside, California observed a round red object. The object was initially stationary, then moved at approximately 300 knots at 5200 feet altitude toward the northeast for 5 minutes before disappearing into haze when heading north. Lost contact when heading north. The sighting could not be correlated with known air traffic; one F-86D was under control at the time but at different position.
