Narrative
On 28 April 1950 at approximately 1230 hours Item time, a 1st Lt. piloting an F-80C jet at 30,000 feet observed a flying object at about 10,000 feet, seven miles to his left, flying at 600-650 mph on a heading of 180 degrees. The object was sighted for about 5 seconds, lost in clouds for 10 seconds, then re-sighted for 5 seconds on the pilot's right, circling left in front of the aircraft and disappearing to the left on a heading of 270 degrees. The pilot descended to 18,000 feet and searched for 15 minutes. Radar Site #18 was unable to track either the F-80 or the unidentified object. Headquarters Fifth Air Force evaluated the source as B-2.
