Narrative

At approximately 2220Z on 20 November 1955, six members of the 663rd AC&W Squadron at Lake City, Tennessee observed two oblong, semi-transparent, bright orange objects in the southwestern sky at 280 degrees azimuth, 30-35 degrees elevation. The objects were not contrails but resembled small clouds traveling at terrific speed, moving toward and away from each other on the same heading. Duration approximately 10 minutes. Sky condition was bright twilight. Investigation was authorized to Flight 2-B.
