Narrative
On 28 July 1956 at 0900Z (night), Giles Reginal (62, county civil defense director) and Stricker Leroy (28, police officer) in Ocala, Florida observed a cylindrical red light five times larger than a normal star. Object appeared to drop from 30 degrees elevation/90 degrees azimuth, descending to 30 degrees azimuth, and slowly faded from sight over 40 minutes. Ground visual observation made at night. Weather was cloudy. Negative radar paint. Senior Director Captain noted no additional comments. Comments: winds and description indicate possible balloon.
