Narrative
On 16 June 1955 at 0320Z a pilot of a Cessna 1764D at 2500 ft MSL near St. Paul, Minnesota observed a round object appearing brilliant green then turning red before fading. Small pieces fell from the main body during descent. The object was seen 45 degrees above the horizon to the northeast, moved to the southwest, and faded after three seconds. A similar sighting was reported near Topeka, Kansas approximately ten minutes later with the same characteristics, suggesting a meteorite.
