Narrative
On 9 January 1956 at approximately 0120Z (dusk), a civilian engineer 5 miles SW of Roseburg, Oregon observed a single round white-hot object about 1 ft in diameter while looking out a window. Object had a sloping nose-down attitude and emitted a small amount of sparks, heading south at 45 degrees, vanishing behind a hill in 2-3 seconds. Reported via 635th ACWRON McChord AFB. Headquarters opinion was the sighting was possibly generated by a DC-6 known to be in the area at the time.
