Narrative

On 19 February 1956 at 0245Z, a GOC Post Supervisor (Mr. Jim Parrish, Burlington, NC) using binoculars observed three lights (red, green, and amber) stationary at first, flashing up and down. After ten minutes the lights moved three miles north. Total observation was 40 minutes. Weather was clear with 15 mile visibility, no clouds. The 35th Air Division noted two civilian airports were located in the same general area of the sighting and concluded the object was probably aircraft in orbit.
