Narrative
At 0330 EST on 2 August 1955 a 28-year-old aircraft worker from Holly, Michigan observed a single round basketball-sized object that changed colors among red, white, and yellow, exhibiting up-and-down movement and disappearing and reappearing. The object remained in sight at azimuth 68/180 under clear weather. The senior director (1st Lt USAF) commented it could be a starlight through temperature inversion or possibly lighted weather balloons, noting the position of the planet Mars combined with temperature inversion.
