Narrative
On 4 February 1953 at 1350 MST, US Weather Bureau meteorological aid Gaylord G. Duren observed two solid white oblong objects using a 32-power theodolite at Yuma County Airport. First object spotted at azimuth 157.2 degrees, elevation 53 degrees. Object ascended, leveled, then was joined by a second identical object that performed swooping turns crossing the first object's path multiple times. Objects appeared as 1 minute of arc, oblong, solid dull pure white with thin white mist edging each. Disappeared behind cirrus cloud at azimuth 204.12 degrees, elevation 23.1 degrees after about 5 minutes. Observer had 10 years balloon-tracking experience plus private pilot license.
