At 2150Z 30 November (year 1954 from context) at the Salem MA GOC station, an Army/AF lieutenant observed an oblique sphere basketball-sized bright white object at 35-45 degrees elevation, 300 degrees azimuth. Object stationary but jumping vertically. Day sighting. Lt. Roy Crawford, Assistant Operations Officer at Olmsted Flight Service Center, was unable to ascertain reason for sighting.
