Narrative
On 15 August 1955 at 0300Z, a civilian student observer at Crystal, Minnesota looked skyward by chance and saw a round, bright yellow pea-sized object with a bright yellow flame protruding aft, 4-5 times longer than object diameter. Object traveled from west to east in a straight path, disappeared in 57 seconds. Observed with naked eye on a clear night with stars. No evidence of jet aircraft in air at that time. Headquarters conclusion: probably astronomical, meteor or meteorite.
