Narrative

At 0317Z on 27 June 1956, an amateur astronomer using a 30X telescope while searching for Saturn observed a round orange-glowing object over Dallas, Texas. Object was at 45 degrees elevation moving from 105 to 115 degrees azimuth in straight flight maintaining altitude, then disappeared into the horizon. Duration approximately 15 seconds. No sound. Exhaust appeared to encircle the object. The reporting unit noted this came from the same Dallas area as a prior 21/0606Z UFOB report and observers lived within half a mile of one another.
