Narrative

On 13 July 1955 at 2135 PDT, a Ground Observer Corps observer at Long Beach, California, reported a single round red object moving faster than a jet at approximately 4900 feet altitude. The object dropped, then ascended and moved west over a course of three miles. The sighting lasted approximately five minutes. Lack of details prevented detailed analysis; 1/Lt Kenneth D. Weber, controller, reported.
