On 4 November 1956 at 2345Z, a civilian in Wilmington, Delaware reported four objects the size of a pea at arm's length, with streaked lights resembling reflected light from an airplane wing. The objects flew in a triangular formation with the point heading northeast, at 35 to 40 degrees true north, 40 to 45 degrees from the horizon. Flight was straight up with no maneuvering, faded out after 5 seconds. The 770th AC&W Squadron at Palermo, Delaware identified track VD-34 as friendly at 1819 hours and broke off interception. Believed to be aircraft or interceptors.
