1950-04-16 — Fort Worth, Texas
Narrative
On the afternoon of approximately 16 April 1950, a Fort Worth resident (former Air Force enlisted man) observed unusual objects in the sky over Fort Worth, Texas appearing as perpendicular streaks of light against a thundercloud. He photographed two groups of three streaks each, plus one additional solitary object, with a Kodak Duoflex camera using 620 Superpan film. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram published the photos on 18 April 1950 under the headline 'Pictures Offer Proof... Vet Sees Flying Objects in Sky.' The witness estimated speed comparable to conventional fighters and distance of six to seven miles.
