Narrative

On 26 August 1956 at approximately 1815 hours MST, a 16-year-old student observed a silver round object pass overhead while at his family ranch near a reservoir north of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The object moved from southeast to northwest in level flight. As the object passed over an abandoned car body, a white puff of smoke appeared from the rear; subsequent examination showed the rear window completely shattered with a six-inch hole and no heat damage. The object disappeared behind a hill to the northwest after 5-6 seconds.
