Narrative

On 8 September 1956 at 1920Z, a USMC guard at the USN Torpedo Station in Keyport observed a round white object sized between a silver dollar and a dime in the night sky at 25-plus degrees elevation, 340 degrees azimuth (NC 2545 area). The observer watched the object for a total of about four hours; it never disappeared, ultimately appearing directly overhead. The night was clear with unlimited visibility. McChord AFB Flight 1-A, 4602D AISS, replied to AISOC 0807 confirming the observer never saw the object disappear during four hours of viewing.
