Narrative

On 21 November 1955 at 0025Z a ground observer near Boston, Massachusetts reported a round ball of fire of bright light displaying red, white, and blue colors with a pointed trail of fire. The observer was looking out a window when sighted. Weather was clear with 15-plus miles visibility, winds NW 22+ kts. Information called by Boston ARTC. No comments by this officer. The 4602D AISS concluded the sighting was possibly an aircraft, with the colors and pointed fire trail consistent with jet exhaust or afterburner.
