Narrative
At 0830Z on 14 May 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Wilkinson observed an object in the Fargo, North Dakota, area, moving northerly in a climbing arc with a slight orange flash and partial metallic appearance, before disappearing to the east. The sighting lasted about three minutes. The object was judged to be at low altitude. Investigation by Flt 2-A, 4602d AISS revealed that a heliaplane (Helio Courier) had departed Fargo area around 0827Z piloted by Mr. Johnson, and the description matched the heliaplane's flight characteristics (slotted wings, speeds 25-150 mph, near-vertical climb).
