Narrative

On 26 July 1955 at 2134Z, the pilot of B-47 Safeway 43 visually sighted a single round white object over Kansas City, Kansas, while flying northeast at 36,000 ft and over 500 knots. The pilot reported the object 30,000 ft above his aircraft on a reciprocal course at an estimated 820 knots faster, with no contrails or exhaust. Visual contact lasted approximately one minute when he was over Kansas City; the object was just outside Oklahoma City when he called Offside. Electronic contact could not be made. Light conditions excellent.
