Narrative
On 22 September 1955 at 2000Z (approximately 2005Z), filter center observers at the top of Peoria, Illinois, reported a long object with no wings, large like a circus balloon, gray on one side and orange on the other, maintaining steady altitude. Object below 1000 ft. Weather clear with winds 20 mph. A bimotor aircraft was known to have landed in landing pattern just after the sighting. Lt. Richard R. Blower, Director 791st AC&W Sq Hanna City, Illinois made no comment. Conclusion: possible aircraft.
