Narrative
At 1349Z on 24 August 1956, a civilian Ground Observer Corps observer in Painsville, Ohio observed a round silver object the size of a golf ball at very high altitude. The object showed no movement or sound and remained in sight for 25 minutes. An F-86D was vectored to the area with negative results. Intelligence officer George Wagasky Jr. concluded the sighting was possibly caused by reflection of low clouds from sun.
