Narrative

Between March and 10 April 1956, a civilian amateur astronomer at Pacific Beach, San Diego, California observed four formations of round star-colored objects flying NW over the Pacific Ocean. Sightings occurred: March 1956 (1st formation, 5-8 objects), 10 April 1956 at 1915 (1st formation, 20-30 objects), 1955 (2nd formation, 10-35 objects), and 2010 (3rd formation, 8-12 objects). Objects estimated over 20,000 ft, speeds 500-1000+ mph. Formations varied from horizontal line to vague V with rapidly changing positions. Wife observed two formations. Weather fair and clear. Headquarters concluded the formation flight was resolved as birds.
