Narrative

On 30 October 1948 at approximately 1430 PST, 2nd Lt Robert L. Kunzman (AO-2027148), radar observer of the 318th Fighter Squadron, McChord AFB, observed a formation of unidentified objects approximately 15 miles NW of Grays Harbor, Washington while on a controlled mission for the 634th Aircraft Control Squadron. Objects were at approximately 8,000 ft, flying easterly then northerly. Pilot Major Homer W. Morris did not see objects but considered Lt Kunzman a trained observer. Statements obtained from both. Investigation by OSI 20th District, McChord AFB (Special Agent Donald C. Hildreth).
