Narrative

On the evening of 12 June 1957 between 07:30 and 08:00 PM, Victor Gibeau Jr. and family in Christiansted, St. Croix observed a moving white light at approximately 30 degrees above horizon in the northeast sky for several minutes. The light was at fixed intensity, moved slowly as if through air currents, ascending continuously. A few minutes later one observer saw two lighted objects briefly. A jet-propulsion-like sound was noticed minutes after the light disappeared. On 13 June 1957 at approximately 07:45 PM, three of the same observers saw a second lighted object that rose very rapidly as if just launched from the Christiansted area, with what appeared to be a long wire on the object reflecting light. The 27th District OSI report was forwarded via 72d Bombardment Wing (H) SAC Ramey AFB Puerto Rico from FBI San Juan via Major Edward A. Brinkman.
