Incident 17 — 1949-06 — Los Alamos / Kirtland AFB area, New Mexico

Multiple inconclusive observations of anomalous luminous aerial objects were reported on 2, 11, 20, and 27 June 1949 in the Los Alamos / Kirtland AFB area. The OSI investigation by Jack L. Boling at DO #17 Kirtland AFB collected eyewitness data. One observer (a security inspector at Los Alamos) described a green trail of uniform width with the object, at roughly 60-degree elevation for several seconds, with no sound or odor.
