Narrative

On 10 June 1955 at 0200Z, observers near San Diego, California reported a round silver object first seen at 20,000 ft drifting SW, then directly overhead. The object drifted with no maneuvers. The March Flight Service Center Operations Officer noted a possible corona effect, and 4602D AISS concluded the sighting was probably a balloon, with tracking placing MDA-IF over the area at approximately the time of sighting, confirming the balloon hypothesis.
