Narrative
On 21 May 1956 at 0325Z, a railroad fireman near Sheaton, Illinois reported a single round dime-sized white-to-pink bright object drifting northwest at low altitude. Sighting via naked eye, ground visual, lasted approximately 25 minutes. Reported via 755th ACWRON Williams Bay, WI. Headquarters response message requested clarification; the senior director noted the observer probably sighted some heavenly body that appeared to be moving. Headquarters concluded probably astronomical (Venus).
